This weekend my 11year old son (who doesn't have a creative bone in his body) spent 8 hours on the machine. The projects interface is awesome! He made a rocket ship puzzle, a card for his dad for fathers day, deisgned a cover for his iPad, and made stickers for his friends.

I've always wanted to be scrapbook crafty, but could never justify the waste of all the punches that I might have to buy just to use a couple of times. I loved that I can create my own designs, import designs, download others or pay to have a template. Its so darn cool and easy. I can finally become the Pinterest Mom I always wanted to be. Our youngest's first birthday is going to be out of this world. I'm so inspired by this machine.

Okay so what might be helpful to you.

The features I think are especially great for people:
* paper choice feature, takes the guess work out of manually adjusting the width or depth that it cuts
* the precision of cutting
* the light that I can use at night when creating stuff when the house is quiet
* the "open" effect is like "aaaahhh"
* it's easy enough for my 11 year old to use unsupervised
* compatible with other Cricut cartridges (I borrowed a friends as I didn't have any preivously).
* I can add my own content and make it for sale! Watch out world!

Cons,
I wish I didn't need 10 inches of space behind the machine
you need a different blade if going after anything thicker than cardstock
the replacement parts and add-ons are pretty expensive
